My hometown is, well, kind of a big deal

So, if you didn’t know, I grew up in the beach town of Encinitas, just north of San Diego.  It’s always been a pretty big, yet sleepy, surf mecca.  Now at over 60,000 residents, it’s gaining some exposure as home to some of the best surf spots in the United States, including one of the most famous in the world, Swami’s.  Some of the best surfers in the world live there, including Rob Machado, who also went to my high school way back in the day.  Well, now it’s getting some fashion recognition, something you know I have been hoping we’d get for a long time.  *snerk*  The June issue of Vogue magazine features a cover photo shoot with television and movie star Blake Lively, shot on the beaches and streets of the town I love.  It’s pretty cool to see so many recognizable spots, including Swami’s Cafe and Moonlight Beach.  Enjoy this little behind-the-scenes video of the shoot, and check out the June issue of Vogue for the photos!
